Almost every right turn takes you to a sandy beach or idyllic cove where you can watch for the Bottle nose Dolphins, Seals and a plethora of birds that enjoy the sanctuary of Cardigan Bay. Boat trips from New Quay or Cardigan give you a ‘birds eye view’ of the marine life, together with some thrills as you speed along the bay.
Yachting Regattas, Rowing races all take place from New Quay and you can hire a Kayak and row over to Treathgwyn beach (white beach), which is often cut off at high tide. The quayside also makes an ideal fishing point. Aberarth beach also popular with surfers when the conditions are just right.
Cardigan Bay Watersports in New Quay, Cardigan Bay offer Sailing taster sessions, Kayak taster sessions, Windsurf taster sessions, Paddleboard taster sessions, Waterski or Wakeboard sessions. Just on our doorstep on the beautiful sandy beaches.
Cardigan Bay Riding Centre is just opposite Merwerydd, and offers pony rides for the children and adults, taking in the stunning views of Cardigan Bay.
Children’s Play Barn and cafe is only a 5 minute walk away from Merwerydd.
For the more adventurous, why not visit Cardigan Bay Active in Cardigan, where you can experience White Water Rafting, Coasteering, Gorge Walking, Canoeing, surfing and climbing.
For the family, there is the Welsh Wildlife Centre where you can take a bicycle ride into the woods and experience the joys of nature close by, or take the Explorer Trail, a stroll or enjoy a picnic or a well deserved luncheon in their splendid cafe.
